What is the Anatomy of Dental Implant?

Dental Implant is only designed to replace one (1) missing tooth. The dental implant is made of three different parts. The first is call the titanium implant. The titanium implant is fused to the jawbone. The next part is the abutment. Abutment, fits over the implant that protrudes from the gum line. The last part is the crown. The crown is made out of many different materials, by using indirect methods. It is fitted to be placed over everything.
There are different types of crowns that you can get. For example, you can get a silver crown, gold crown or the color of your other teeth.

Some people might want to have a fixed bridge instead of a dental implant. With a fixed bridge it can cause damage to the surrounded teeth. It can cause the surrounding teeth to brake down and then you might be able to get them fixed but its not always a guarantee. If you are able to get them fixed and it happens again later on in the future, it does not mean that it will be able to be fixed again.

In a study, it shows that the surrounding teeth of the fixed bridge can fail within five (5) to seven (7) years. The failure rate of this happening is 30%. Fixed dentures gives you a better solution

Also, before you can get the dental implant, the dentist has to check the strength of your jawbone. If it is too weak for the dental implant then they
would have to graft the bone that is in the area. An alternative would be to have dentures fitted for your teeth.
