· Broken teeth – broken teeth often caused by accidents my have to be removed and replaced with implants for example if they are badly damaged and cannot be saved.
· Wisdom teeth – Wisdom teeth as we all know are a very tricky tooth to produce from the ages of 19-21. Sometimes they have to be extracted if they have grown incorrectly, for example they may push into your gums causing pain or move other teeth in your mouth causing bad aesthetics.
· Dentures – remaining teeth may have to be extracted so that they can be replaced with dentures, this usually happens if a patient requests a full set of dentures.
An easy way to prevent tooth decay, thus prevent those all dreaded extractions would be to simply keep up with good oral hygiene.
Using good toothpaste containing the correct amount of fluoride and a good toothbrush alongside a strong mouthwash enables a good routine for good oral care.
